ELMETTO BALISTICO EI NIJ 3A

1. INTRODUCTION
Ballistic helmet BK-3 fulfils all requirements of modern ballistic helmet for land army and it can be identified with USA models PASGT and MITCH.
All elements on the helmet are attached without drilling holes in the shell (boltless shell) to eliminate all potential weak points.
Advantages of such helmet are following:
Does not exist potentially ballistic weak points on a shell of helmet
Increased protection surface
There is no possibility of secondary fragmentation  Mass of helmet is unchanged

1.1. APPLIED BALLISTIC MATERIAL
Standard helmet shell production uses 100% aramid material. Company Sestan-Busch is using only Europe produced high quality materials. Aramid material have excellent ballistic resistance against a range of fragment sizes and bullets, balance between penetration resistance and low dynamic deflection, processes consistently; insensitive to modest process variations, good adhesion to resin and good dimensional stability, long, stable life, ballistic resistance insensitive to:
• Wide range of temperature (from -52°C to +70°C)
• Sea water soak
• Wide range of chemical agents & cleaners
Aramid is flame and heat resistance, it will not meld or drip, will not sustain flame and have low smoke toxicity.

1.2. APPLIED TECHNOLOGY
Helmets are made by advanced compression molding technology with usage of aramid fiber. Required temperature cycling times and high molding pressure provide superior ballistic performance and meet all structural requirements.

2. HELMET PARTS

2.1. INSIDE EQUIPMENT SHOTECK
Inside equipment Shoteck was made as result long time researching and improvement made in company Šestan-Busch. Final result of this process is inside equipment for ballistic helmets with excellent characteristics, not only on field of absorption, impact energy projectile than also on field comfort of wearing, ventilation of helmet, perfect connection helmet and head of user, also possibility of manifold adjusting.

Equipment consists following parts:

      Outside ring  

      Inside ring 

      Inside pad

      Net 

      Basket –elements for absorption impact energy and insurance of distance between head and inside surface of helmet.

 

The main characteristic of Shoteck inside equipment is its geometry. On outside surface of equipment (the side which is in touch with inside surface of shell) are disposed on a special arrangement, elements which by impact of projectile with their deformation absorb impact energy, therefore only small part of this energy transmits on neck of helmet’s user. This confirms also results of testing due to different norms and one of them is EN 397. The height of these elements of 12 – 14 mm assures necessary difference between inside surface of helmet and head of helmet’s user. Within is at the same time achieved perfect conditioning of air inside helmet.

 

Parts of inside equipment which are in directly contact with skin of user are coated with natural leather with anti-allergic characteristics (leather is treated only with natural derivatives). Basic material from which are made, by process injection pressing, parts of inside equipment is combination PE-LD with necessary adding which, due to needs of buyers, determinate final characteristics (for exp. special requirements on colour, degree of self extinguishing, etc…)

 

Possibility of adjusting inside equipment Shoteck is manifold. Because of its complexity and complicatedness is possible adjusting due to volume of a head, also due to depth of wearing on simple and quick way and without need of use any tools. 

The non-visible parts of the suspension system may be green or black.

 
2.2. CHIN STRAP

 

Standard material is high-performance PA fibre, PRESS buckle (metal-plastic), adjustment buckle (plastic), safety buckle (metal) and neck pad. 

Our chinstraps are tested on heat, humidity and chemical resistance. Their give dimensional stability, strength and can withstand a load of more than 500 N.  The coloring the chinstrap be black and the straps green.

 4. VISOR

 

Our demining visors are currently one of the finest and lightest of this kind on the market that fully meets the demanding requirements. Visor material is polycarbonate with high degree of structural resistance to external influences. The process of making is injection moulding which provides excellent antiballistic properties. The design of the visor allows an easy installation on 95% of all helmet models. The visor is equipped with a rubber edge that prevents water leakage to the users face.

5. Protective bag for BK-3 helmet with VIZOR

 

The BK-3 helmet comes with a protective bag in which the helmet and visor are protected from scratches and dirt. The size of the bag is 40 cm x 68 cm.
